Find out more about your candidates from the League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters recently published its Voter Guide! Simply enter your address at the link below to get personalized information about the candidates and ballot initiatives in this election. Nearly all of the Doraville candidates responded to their survey, so this is a great way to compare our positions on various issues, as well as our communication skills.

Here’s a handy voting guide

Quite a few residents have expressed some confusion about who they can vote for and who’s running against whom, so here’s the scoop:

Doraville has 3 neighborhood districts, each represented by two councilmembers. One seat is open for each  district in this election, but all Doraville voters can vote for all three seats. That means that not everyone who asks for your vote is running against each other, and in fact it’s very important for the council members to be able to work well together.

So, if you like what the candidate in one  district has to say, it’s a good idea to ask the candidates in the other two districts  whether they support these goals, and also how they will handle inevitable disagreements with other council members.  Here’s the complete list of candidates — those within the same  district are opposing each other, while those in different districts have the opportunity to work together on the  council.  Please take the time to get to know us – many of our elections are decided by fewer than a dozen votes, so your vote really counts!
